Reading Notes: The Ramayana Heroines, Sita's Story

Sita's Story from Nine Ideal Indian Women

-Beginning is reminiscent of Ramayana; no longer childless; could make Sita the hero of the Ramayana
-King is Ravan: plot twist, could this man be Ravana?
-Presented a gharrah: perhaps the same gharrah that held Sita? plot point
-Sita is actually a goddess
-Sita's suitor must break her bow: have her break her own bow as to not be taken by any man
-Rama is a brave lad; make him weak and cowardly for comedic effect? to be offset by Sita's bravery and charm?
-Rama and Sita instantly fall in love: why not make them hate each other and then fall in love? Create a more intricate meeting
-Sun Prince and Moon Princess: too coincidental, but fun. Perhaps give them powers that correspond with their titles: magic couple!
-Parents are very please with the union
-Need to ask King Dasaratha's permission: Maybe he hates the union and Rama has to go behind his back to marry Sita
-Other bros take brides from the available women
-Create conflict similar to Ramayana: an evil man tries to steal Sita away from Rama
-Parashurama returns! Angry
-He wishes to fight Rama over Sita: Perhaps I could make him fight Sita over Rama
-Maybe it could be set in the 80s so Parashurama challenges Rama to a dance-off
-Rama could lose, making Parashurama the main character
-Backstory about Parashurama
-Maybe Sita could be ugly, and everyone is surprised by her ugliness rather than her beauty
-Beautifully romantic dialogue between the two: could expand upon this and write a short love poem
-Full story about how Sita won the queen's heart
-Dasaratha is making plans about having Rama become king: Have Sita take the throne instead!
-Manthara is plotting against Rama. Is he in love with the Queen? Have queen make a plot to kill Sita in order to foil Rama
