TOPIC BRAINSTORM
EPIC BATTLES
I knew immediately this would end up on my list because I'm a huge fan of great fight scenes! I love adventure and the clash of good and evil, so this would be an exciting topic to write about! The previous knowledge I have of epic battles comes mostly from anime, action movies, and YA novels, so I'm anxious to see a fresh new take on battles. I think I'd enjoy some stories about humans vs. gods or gods vs. gods since gods play such a big part in Indian storytelling. I'm also hoping for some strong female protagonists, so if I can't find enough of those, I can retell the story where the main character IS female!

MUSIC
As a music major, this probably comes as no surprise. I don't know much about Indian music except that it's melismatic and beautiful, so I'm hoping to learn a lot more about the rich history and storytelling that goes into creating such music. I'm hoping to hear epic stories about gods and goddesses and romance, but in song form! I would like to hear music that matches up with the story being told so I can really get a feel for the tones and themes. If not, I'd like to read stories ABOUT Indian music, although the former is preferred:) Perhaps I can rewrite the stories to not match with how the song sounds so that it's an interesting contradiction.

LOVE STORIES
Aside from rough-and-tumble action and adventure, I also love a good love story. I love to read stories about romantic couples overcoming obstacles to be with each other or just meeting for the first time and falling in love. As an avid rom-com watcher, I know a lot about Western love stories in general, but not so much about Eastern love stories and tales. I want to see what differences there are in the storytelling aspects and what tropes are common. I'd perhaps like to retell stories to include couples of all orientations or maybe changing the endings to be tragedies (although I would feel bad doing so).

WEAPONS OF THE GODS
My first time through the topics, I somehow missed this gem. Being an avid anime and RWBY watcher, I am highly interested in cool weapons! I think the design of them and creation of weapons that can transform/have multiple uses are incredible (and fun to draw)! Once again, I know a bit about weapons from cartoons/video games/anime, but practically nothing about what an Indian god might use. I'm really excited to look into this for possible inspiration or just plain curiosity about what these weapons might do and look like. If there are whole stories about weapons, it would be cool to redesign them within the stories or even go completely crazy and make them really silly, like a giant rubber hammer or squeaky toy.
