Reading Notes: Mahabharata, Section B
The Mahabharata
-A low caste woman and her children perished in the fire meant for the others. What if we gave them a backstory as to add connection to their characters?
-Bhima gets into a fight with the mighty rakshasa, since the rakshasa wishes to eat him. How about, instead, the rakshasa simply wants a friend to hang out with and is vastly misunderstood by Bhima.
-Bhima runs off with the rakshasa's beautiful sister, but leaves his family behind??? I could tell their story of when they were left alone to fend for themselves.
-Baka is an evil king who asks for What if one of the daughters fought Baka instead of Bhima appearing suddenly to fight him?
-Nalayani prays for a husband five times, thus getting five husbands. How about she gets NO husband, but reaps benefits anyways?
-I think instead of a man stringing the bow and getting the daughter's hand in marriage, it could have been a woman and surprised everyone.
-I think rather than just being given to the five brothers, Draupadi could hold a contest of strength to see which of them should marry her.
-Perhaps there could be a side story about the two main brothers' feelings for Draupadi and how they might want to win her over? A little brotherly competition?
-Tell the cute story of Arjuna meeting Ulupi and them falling in love.
-How could the alligator see Arjuna when he can turn invisible in water? Could rewrite section with plot point.
-Create a montage sequence where Madana teaches Chita to be feminine and flirty rather than manly as she is currently.
-Can I make the characters animals rather than humans? The multiple partners thing may make more sense?
-Could add WAY more details to specific events since the story seems to move so fast and include many characters, such as the battle scenes, or love scenes, or any portion involving a god giving someone fancy powers.
